Even the smallest act can count, whether it's a smile, a thank you or a kind word and we will asking staff to give to our Innovation Festival Food bank during the festival week. Please explore the wellbeing activities below and use the booking form to book on as many of the activities as you are able to attend:

 

PILATES

Where : Wellbeing Tent

When : Tuesday - 08:00 till 08:45

What : Pilates consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength movements. It is a mat-based class which aims to strengthen the body in an even way, with particular emphasis on core strength to improve general fitness, mindfulness and wellbeing. Festival-goers of all abilities are welcome to come along to this beginners’ session, to book a place please click here.

MASSAGES

Where : Box 11

When : Tuesday - 10:30 till 15:30

What : We will be offering all day appointments for festival goers to enjoy the holistic therapies of Indian head massage and reflexology. The massage will take place in the massage chair so there will be no need to remove any clothing. Just take a few moments to relax and smell the essential oils in order to aid your relaxation.

GENTLE GROUP WALK

Where: Wellbeing Tent

When: Tuesday - 12:30 – 13:15

What: Why not use your lunchtime to get your steps up by taking part in a gentle and scenic walk led by Living Streets who is a UK charity for everyday walking. The walk will take you around the beautiful scenery of the racecourse and its surrounding area. Meeting at the wellbeing tent at 12:30, to book a place please click here.

ALPHABETTI THEATRE PLAY WRITING WORKSHOP

Where : Wellbeing Tent

When : Tuesday - 17:00 till 18:30

What : Spend some time getting creative with your fellow festival goers by joining this workshop run by Alphabetti Theatre to create a short 2-3 minute play. The session will be facilitated by Newcastle’s very own Alphabetti Theatre and will allow you to use the arts to improve your mental health. Those who feel comfortable doing so will have the chance to perform their play for the rest of the workshop group at the end.
