Welcome to Living Well at the Innovation Festival
Taking inspiration from our award winning Living Well wellbeing hub offered to all of our employees at Northumbrian Water, this is your one stop shop for wellbeing throughout the festival.
Kicking things off in style… our 5 days of Living Well. Try these simple actions to give your mind, body and soul a little boost!

Be sure to visit our beach area. If you’re feeling energetic, pop along for a spot of volleyball, a quick round of badminton, or you could just sit on a deck chair and feel the sand beneath your toes. Either works for us!
No Festival look is complete without a bit of glitter or a nice piece of face art. We have temporary tattoos or you can visit our resident face painter each day from 12-4pm (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) who will be near Flo.
Fancy blowing off a bit of steam? Then come along to our Lunchtime Boogie with DJ Lyndsay. 12.30-12.45pm on Thursday, next to the beach area. All abilities welcomed. We just want to see you move and groove like nobody’s watching!
Our friends at Kind Currency will be here this year and have organised a Kindness Trail in the Exhibition Hall. They’re also one of our Lightning Speakers so you may see Michelle in your sprint. If not, be sure to pop by their stand in the exhibition for a chat.
For those who need a break away from the chaos and energy, you can recharge in our Chill room, which is located on the second floor of Brandling House in Box 206 (Far Cry). For our accessibility map and to see how to get to our chill room, click here.
Our Kindness Stones will be hidden across the festival site to make people smile and unleash a bit of festival kindness and positivity. See how many you can spot. Don’t forget to share the joy and post on social using #innovationfestival23
If you’re feeling creative, you can even create your own! You’ll find the Kindness Stone creation table near Flo.
Lose yourself in our Lego Pit... well, not physically! Let your mind take a moment of calm and head over to our Lego Pit in the games area. There’s a table here too for those who’d like to display their masterpieces.
If you could do with someone to talk to, there’s always a pair of willing ears to listen. You can visit our Mind Mates – our mental health first aiders – on their stand in the Exhibition Hall.
Our charity partners, WaterAid, have some fun and games lined up for Wednesday evening. So, come along to the games area between 5pm – 6.30pm to get involved. Inclusive activity, all abilities are welcomed!
At Innovation Festival HQ, we are passionate about positivity and always look to embody it in everything we do. Our friendly team will be on hand and around the festival site – recognisable by their crew t-shirts! So be sure to give them a smile, say hi, and look out for our positive messages and takeovers across the festival to give you a cheery mood boost.
Back by popular demand, our games area returns this year and will act as a hub for most of our fun filled activity on site at the racecourse. Complete with giant games, a table tennis table and table football, it’s the perfect spot to release some energy and grab time with your festival friends.
