Tuesday 9 July

This one day daily dash is taking place at Newcastle Racecourse on Tuesday 9 July. We are seeking education professionals, students, industry experts and innovators to help come up with high level ideas on how we can go about this challenge that affects us all.

Gateshead College is committed to taking positive action to address climate change and creating a better environment for our learners, our people and our future.

In doing so we will focus on minimising our environmental impact and promoting sustainability across all our operations and curriculum. We have a commitment to integrate environmentally responsible practices into our daily activities and foster a culture of environmental awareness.

The aim of the dash is to look for solutions that can support our ambition which takes positive action to address climate change creating a better environment for our learners, our people and future generations.

The benefits of integrating green space and nature into education settings can lead to improved mental health, improved air quality and better productivity. The challenge we face is that many of our buildings are in urban settings with little or no land and the level of inequality and poverty in the North East means students have low levels of environmental knowledge and skills.

Registration for this dash, has now closed.
