How might we link up environmental investment through a network of unlikely allies to deliver thriving catchments?
This YWWIW challenge is taking place over 4 days. It may be of interest to Subject Matter Experts/sector representatives, mainstreaming NBS project stakeholders and regulators.
Catchment and Nature Based Solutions (NBS) are essential to drive local recovery, support climate adaptation and allow water companies to meet net zero targets. Our aim for the Innovation Festival 2024 is to develop our plan for finance and co-investment, enabling integrated catchment solutions to be delivered successfully, developing a blueprint for national change.
This ‘Year’s Worth of Work in a Week’ sprint will be supported by the Mainstreaming NBS programme, a £9m national Ofwat Innovation Fund programme which includes a focus on unlocking existing revenue streams and accessing innovative finance to enable nature based solutions.
Our sprint will identify 'unlikely allies', bringing diverse minds into a creative space to help us unlock transformational investment in NBS, using the Thriving Catchments programme in the North East, one of the Mainstreaming NBS Regional Tests, as a case study to develop a scalable national approach.
