How might we use smart data to improve the lives of customers to enable them to live safely and independently, for longer?

This sprint is taking place at Newcastle Racecourse 8 - 11 July

This four day sprint is taking place at Newcastle Racecourse. It may be of interest to Carers NHS workers, Gas / Electricity workers, IOT workers, Data whizz / technicians, vulnerable customer workers, people who are considered vulnerable or know someone who is considered to be vulnerable, supported housing workers and those who want to make a difference to the population.

We want to overcome the gaps and limitations of today's solutions using smart data from water & other services to enable customers to live in their homes for longer, that the carers are confident that they can have an early warning about changes to routine that could mean urgent care is required, or alternative actions be mobilised quickly.

Did you know?

  • More than 2 million people in England over the age of 75 live alone,
  • More than a million older people say they go over a month without speaking to a friend, neighbour or family member. (Age UK, 2022)
  • 1 in 5 people will become disabled - not through old age.
  • There are currently 944k dementia patients, and to care for them, over 700k unpaid carers in the UK.
  • With an ageing population, the patient number is set to rise to over 1m in just over 5 years (Alzheimer’s Society, 2021; NHS, 2024).

Let’s get together about improving lives now and for future generations so everyone can have a home for life.
